So I've been unable to get to write lately and don't have much time now. Due to a ill computer.  The geek squad is working on it and I promise I will be up and running again soon.

Finally More Earrings

I finally took sometime away from promoting my site www.leahbeesearrings.com to actually make more earrings.  It's weird it seems now that I have a website i have less time to actually work on the Earrings that I started the website to sell.  So after talking to my brother who is a Manga Artist Who is very successful online http://crazycowproductions.deviantart.com/ (Warning my brothers art work may not be suitable for all eyes) But he told me the way he works online is he works on promotions every other day and he works on his art every other day so he doesn't worry about spending to much time on one thing and to avoid resenting your website because if your spending all the time working on getting the site out there your not focusing on your true love as much as you should and you will start blaming the website and give up before it becomes profitable.  Just to give you a little info on my brother he's had his site for about 4 years now and just got his millionth computer to view his site.  (which means with out repeat only original viewing counts) so he has some background on what it takes to make a site work.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy V-day Everybody I've been having such a great and relaxing day so far. I woke up before everybody in the house and I watched Scooby Doo I know I know what is a 28 year old women doing watching cartoons but I say that's what keeps me young at heart.  I think every once in a while you need to  reach out to that inner child and say ok ok I know I've had you in hiding for so many years but today is your day to go wild.. So today at least for the time being I'm going to embrace the inner child and just play..I may even pull out some coloring books and just relax. I know my husband wants to go out to dinner but other than that we are relaxing right now he's play the new mario bros on the wii  so I guess he's embracing his inner child as well.  As they say " great minds think a like."   Well here's to the inner child in all of us

What is a good number

So I'm getting about 25 to 50 hits a day on my website www.leahbeesearrings.com  but I'm not sure if that's good or not. I mean it's more than I would get to view my earrings normally a day so I'm greatful for that but is it a good number. I'm not so sure. it's like your credit report if you have x number it's good if i get under it's not that good.  But I guess today I'm going to take it as good news.  Oh yeah I almost forgot I found two website that i thought were helpful.   One is http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/rank-checker/ it helps a lot with seeing where you are in the google rank with certain keywords which I think is really cool. So i've watched how if i search Leah Bee in google it's the 3rd thing that comes up but it started as the 100th thing so it's kind of cool to watch you get higher up on the list.  then there is www.trafficg.com which helps bring hits to your site. so I've been working with those two site lately.. I will keep you posted on any sites i find that have helped out with the site. :o)  Oh yeah and thanks for all the kind feed back and please feel free to contact me anytime

The City Finally Wakes

So today as I go out for my daily shoveling I noticed everybody is starting to stir I also Realized everybody is getting cabin fever because everybody is yelling at everybody.  Not in the house but people on the road and shoveling. So I think everybody is just ready to get their life back on track and normal.  But the news says it can take 3 or 4 days before plows get to all the side streets. so I guess by tuesday if we're lucky and if the Clipper of snow that's coming Monday doesn't slam us.. What in the world  I don't think anybody had any idea we were going to be completely shut down.. and what sucks even more is I haven't been able to get a hold of anybody from unemployment and now they have been closed for the last week...  Rock and Hard place is my address right now if you were wonder where i have Moved.. with all the shoveling I've done in the last week I can't even manage to lift my fingers to type one more sentence.

Please No More Snow

Man I love Mother Nature and I love having 4 seasons here in VA but I hate this darn snow.. I just wish it would flipping stop already.. I've been shoveling and shoveling but you would never know it by the way it looks out side.. We have gotten the most snow ever in VA and they are saying more is coming Monday I mean More how the hell am I ever to get out of the house.. I need to go bead shopping ASAP . If you notice all I've been doing is using the beads that I've had for a while now.. But I guess it's making me use them.. It's like I love certain beads and I buy them and never use them.. I don't know why I do this but I do it all the time.. so not having all of my beads at my in-laws and running out of beads that I brought because come tomorrow we have been snowed in for a week.. Thank god my father in law plows so we can get groceries when needed and when the stores are open. but still it sucks and my patients is getting very thin with everybody... So instead of taking out on everybody I love I go out for at least 3 hours a day and shovel so that helps out in many ways.. A) I wont go postal and snap on everybody B) I'm getting my cardio so all these calories I've been eatting are getting burned off

Eat, Drink , and Work On Your Website

Ok like the title of this blog says I think that's all I do these days I Eat Drink and Work on my Website.. (www.leahbeesearrings.com) I don't realize I do it until I look at the Clock and it's 2:30 in the morning and I'm still looking for free ways to Advertise my website.. Last night I found a Pretty Cool Website that post ads depending on how many people click on your Link

http://adsvert.com/?uid=Leahbeeblog and people click on the ad and you get more hits and so I've been told (who Knows if it's right) the more hits the close up on google which equals more business. Man I wish I had a million dollars to pay for someone to do all this for me. My husband doesn't even know what I look like with out a laptop in front of my face anymore.. But I keep telling him in a year hopefully it will pay off and I wont have to worry about it. :o) Oh and the Pictures are my latest earrings..

Oh How Do I Keep This Up

So Today Started off great this morning I got a lot of feedback that was all positive .. Then I realize I need to really get my website www.leahbeesearrings.com out there. I mean I tried one way and then people got mad saying I was spamming which I never knew that it wasn't allow to add my link to my signature on this one site.. So after I would respond to anything it would come out

So I thought OK no big deal but this one person went through to all my responses and banned me from the website.. I guess they figured I read all the rules and regulations.. But I'm sorry it's my fault I don't read the fine line of all these website out there that I sign up to. So I decided that I've got to start reading the fine print or it will look really negative for my site.. It's like I realize if someone puts there website in your face your not going to like it. But I didn't really think about it to much I just knew everybody told I had to put my link on everything related to getting my site out there. So I've been spending 8 hours a day just trying to get links to my site then to find out that even though the site is big and has more than a million followers that my 20 a day post with my link in the signature seemed like I guess I was an online telemarketer.. And I don't want to be so now what do I do.. I guess get more advice and try again. Plus read the fine line.. So Today is a new start.. But on the up side of the day.. I've been very productive I've made a lot of earrings I've got a lot of views and I've posted and taken pictures of quiet a few earrings to my site

Go Saints

Man The Saints rocked it last night... What a great game and damn who doesn't like the underdogs to win every once in a while. I didn't get tons of earrings done because I was to into the game.. But I did add another 6 pairs to the my site http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/ I feel like I'm on top of my game these days.. I found that niche of work and play and not getting to hung up on the small things.. So far I've had 8 countries to my site and 25 out of the 50 states in the USA come on by which is kind of cool. Plus I've moved up on the google search list.. I'm now only the 1 millionth and 500 thousandth list under hand crafted earrings ( : o P)

Snowy Day Equals Summer Time Music

So today Im Snowed in and I figured the best way to get out of the Snowed in Funk is to listen to summer time music.. Yep you know like Sublime , Lint, Brown Eyed Girl ect. The kinda of music that you move your hips to or you want to roll down your windows and sing on top of your lung. oh yeah and I closed the blinds so I dont see its actually blah out side. So Far I think theres 16 inches of snow out there and still coming down hard. But I think the Music is working Because I've Made 10 pair of earrings and put them online :o) Plus I've signed up for this really cool thing http://www.linkreferral.com/ it's a good way to get feed back on my website http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/ to know what people actually think of my website. Which is nice I love talking to family and friends about what they think but most of them don't really tell you what they think they just say "Oh Sweetheart What Amazing Earrings" or "Wow I'm so proud of you" but I like constructive critisim because how do I know I need to fix something if everybody is telling me how wonderful it is. Plus on link referral I found a lot of blogs that I didn't know were out there .. just check out who I'm following now to see what goodies I've found.

My Latest Style Right that I worked on Yesterday and Today are more teardrop shaped earrings and some Chandaliers which I love Love Love. I have to say it's hard for me to part with some of the earrings I make I mean I keep Some but I've told my self to only keep 1 out of 20 I make for myself . Since I want the earrings I make to be mostly one of a kinds so I just have to part with the rest and make peace with that :o( well I better get back to making and photographing earrings

Motivation where are you???

So today is one of those days where you don't really feel like doing a thing. I mean I'm sitting here writing this blog and typing seems to be the only thing that I'm motivated to do.. I guess a lot has to do with the fact I have a lot to do. It's like my list for this website of things to do is getting longer and longer. and the sad part is I haven't had the time to work on making more earrings because I'm trying to finish the first 94 earrings on the website ( www.leahbeesearrings.com) already to be perfect. I mean I get it my site wont look like 100 % perfect but I like to think of it not looking like blah either. I know I need to get a crackin if I'm ever going to be able to make more earrings again. So the list of things to do so far are

*Retake about 40 photos that are already on line that look blah
*Take pictures of the 200 pair of earrings I have that aren't online yet
*Edit those photos
*Upload those photos online (Name them describe them and price them)
*Put hooks on about 75 pairs of earrings and photo edit and upload those online
*Try to put as many links to my site online as I can (to get higher up on the google list)
*update Twitter
* Go to post office mail off earrings sold
* Decided whether or not I need to keep the background in the photos of the earrings or not on line.
*If I do decided to take out the background that means I have to crop all the photos that are already online and repost them

but then again I ask MOTIVATION WHERE ARE YOU?

. I guess I will go make a cup of coffee and hope motivation is at the end of it.

Dealing With Negative Feed Back

So Its hard for me when people contact you to tell you something negative about your site. I mean it would be one thing if they would say something like hey I saw on your site the photos aren't the best why don't you try this diffrent approach on taking the photos. That would be helpful but to contact me just to belittle my site is just uncalled for. So how do people do it. how do they just let it roll off their backs. I mean take celebirties I would hate to be them. If there not to fat there to skinny if there not drunks then there this or that.. I dont know how they don't let it get to them. I guess thats just another reason why I'm not famous. :o) Other than the negative feed back I did put some new earrings online http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/

Revamping My Site

So Today I hung out at my mother in laws house and we revamped my website http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/ to show the newest earrings first. Plus I finally figured out a good way to show the sparkle of the earrings when I photograph them. It's weird how I took photography for years and never had a problem taking pictures of people but when it comes to taking pictures of my Earrings I have a brain fart. It's like I forget everything I learned about lighting and shooting photos. Because Earrings are nothing like photographing People. I mean People Pictures are so much more forgiving. This is a total learning experience for me I've never really made a website to sell stuff. If you have any advice for me on lighting in the photos. Or just anything you see that would deter people from shopping at my site.. OH YEAH does anyone know how to add a wish list to a website.. My mother in law suggested it and I thought what a great idea until I realized it's not as simple as it sounded.. HELP PLEASE :)

Artist Links and Germany

So in the last few days a few exciting things have happened on the site. first off I started a new page on my site http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/ for local artist links. I wanted to support other artist and then swap them links so like a I scratch your back you scratch mine kind of thing. so I'm looking for any artist that are interested. But I will check out the sites and have to actually like your stuff for me to add the link. So Just go to the contact us part of the website and shoot me a message and your link and I will check it out and get back to you if it something I like :o) the other cool thing that happened in the last few days is someone in Germany looked at my website. How cool is that. I mean I spend a good 8-10 hours a day trying to get my name out there. I mean i work harder at this then the job I just lost. so to see it actually paying off is nice. It's Funny now that I have my own website it's a lot harder then I think most people Assume. I mean I thought you made a site and your on google automatically.. Well What a surprise...But it's nice to see your hard work pay off by the visitors and the sells. My husband swears I may go blind from looking at the computer screen for so long each day but he is really supportive of me trying to make this work. Especially since there really isn't any luck with finding a real job right now. I also added about 10 more pair of earrings to the site. A few of them are at the top of the blog.

Hi I'm Leah , I'm a First Time Blogger and an Earring Designer. I figured I would try out this world of blogging if nothing else to have a place to talk about the process I'm going through to Get http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/ Up and going.


About 2 months ago I started a cheap little website with 5 pair of earrings on it. I mean 5 pair it's not like that's a way to make a living. So I convinced my Husband Andrew that it's worth the money to get a dot com. I mean all the other websites have them I want one too!!! Little did we know I would be loosing my job 2 weeks later... so now what can I say I'm totally invested in http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/ In between the looking for a job and filing unemployment and all that good stuff I'm online learning about what it takes to promote a web site get it up and running and actually be able to maybe make a few bucks off of it. So far I've made 1/4 of what it cost for the dot com subscription but I figure my mom will stop buying them sooner or later and then my husband will look at me cross eyed and tell me " I thought you said the dot com would pay for itself" And I truly thought you have a dot com and the world knows about it. Well I was Wrong..... So did I tell you I have a new website http://www.leahbeesearrings.com/ . :o)


I promise this whole site wont be shameless plugs but more like updates on the website and what it takes to start your own business and hopefully convince your husband you can be your own boss and don't really need a 9-5 I mean wouldn't that be nice get up in the morning and create all day long Oh what a life that would be but for now I guess I'm in search of a way to at least pay for the dot com
